Google funds all KC teachers’ requests on crowdfunding site
The Kansas City team of Google Fiber made a surprise announcement with Mayor Sly James at Garfield Elementary on September 10, 2014 to a few of their teachers. They brought the teachers and their classrooms full of kids together to tell them the requests they made via the education crowdfunding site, DonorsChoose.org, were being filled by Google. This was part of a bigger announcement, where the real surprise was they would be funding every classroom request made by a Kansas-City area teacher.
