Summer Street Fests

In Chicago, street festivals are a staple of the summer experience. Between the months of May and October there are over 30 festivals highlighting different neighborhoods, local eateries and bands. I always seem to miss out on the fests so I made it a point this summer to make to at least one. When I was finally back in town the last weekend of July it was time for Taste of Lincoln. It had everything you could expect from a summer festival: plenty of food stands, arts and crafts, giveaways and cover bands. I was able to snap some pictures of two bands: Rod Tuff Curls & the Bench Press (http://www.rodtuffcurls.com) and Andrew Belle. I didn’t get to spend much time at Andrew Belle but Rod Tuff Curls (or ROTC as they go by) provided enough entertainment for the whole afternoon.

  1. Thanks for the info on the bands. You should check out the Chicago Festival Finder app. It provides information for over 80 festivals in Chicago and surrounding neighborhoods. Have a great summer!
